Tales from the Bunny Hop Road
Bunnies are a folkloric figure and symbol of Easter, as well as of spring. Here on Long Island bunnies abound on the Bunny Hop Road. This is our tribute to the Bunny Hop Road, through photographs of some of our favorite bunnies, along with bunnies from the collections of Ann Caliandro, Penny Murley, and Meredith Sweet, and bunnies featured in books from the Long Island Community Library.
Stop by the library and share your stories about the Bunny Hop Road in the exhibit notebook!

Library Story Hour is Back!
Join us for Raising Readers Story Hour to Celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of the program that has given over two million books to Maine children at their well child visits!
Friday mornings at 9:45 AM librarians, Katie Norton & Alanna Rich will be reading aloud to infants, toddlers, preschoolers throughout the remainder of winter and spring 2016. Long Island school children will also participate at 10:15 as they already attend library time on Fridays.
The Raising Readers Story Hour will begin on Friday February 12th. We will kick things off as we read “The Winter Visitors” by Karel Hayes. Other Story hour titles include,”Pigs in the Mud in the Middle of the Rud” by Lynn Plourde and illustrated by John Schoenherr. “Maine ABC” by Susan Ramsay Hoguet. “Many Hands, a Penobscot Indian Story” Written by Angeli Perrow and illustrated by Heather Austin and “Antlers Forever!” written by Frances Bloxam and illustrated by Jim Sollers.
