ONGOING/UPCOMING LIBRARY EVENTS

Megan Shusta Concert – Thursday July 30th 4:00PM

Coming straight from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Megan Shusta will next be performing on Long Island, Maine.
Her last performance with the National Symphony’s Summer Music Institute was this past Saturday night in Washington, DC.
This Thursday, July 30, at 4:00 p.m. Megan will perform a concert at the Long Island Learning Center with a reception following at the Dodwell Gallery.
It is with great pleasure we are able to continue the legacy established by Helen and Richard Kay. Many concerts were performed by this musical pair. How fortunate to have a granddaughter Megan following in their footsteps! Sydney Shusta is singing with her sister, a piece dedicated to their grandparents.
Megan is one of the leading young French Horn players in New England.
Be sure to mark the date. This is special! Hope to see you and your friends on Thursday.

The Maine Photo Project, a statewide collaboration among museums, galleries, historical societies, and other nonprofit cultural organizations across Maine, celebrates the 150th anniversary of photography.

This exhibit reflects the history of photography through the collections of the Long Island Historical Society, as well as private collections. From daguerreotypes to digital photography, Long Island has long been photographed – people, places, homes, ferries. The exhibit is supplemented with antique cameras from private collections and books from the collections of the Long Island Community Library.
